Fire Extinguisher tamper seal

Postby Blackstone on Fri Nov 21, 2008 2:09 pm

NFPA 10, 6.3.2.2 Seals or Tamper Indicators

At the time of the maintenance, the tamper seal of rechargeable fire extinguishers shall be removed by operating the pull pin or locking device. After the applicable maintenance procedures are completed, a new tamper seal shall be installed.

The code section needs to include: Tamper seal shall indicate the date of the tamper seal’s installation.

Having a dated seal ensures the seal was removed during the annual maintenance as required. Otherwise, it is impossible to know if the old one was just left there and who knows how much else was not done...
We find consulations, we learn tricks with which we deceive ourselves, but the essential thing - the way - we do not find. Listen to the river.
